Congratulations Kim Rhode Olympic Gold Medal Winner

Congratulations to Kim Rhode winner of the Gold Medal in Skeet Shooting this weekend at the London 2012 Olympics.  Kim is the first American athlete to win five medals in an individual event in five consecutive Olympic Games.

She began shooting at 10 years old and is coached by her father. Kim began her Olympic career at the age of 17 earning a gold medal in double trap. After the 2004 Olympics double trap was eliminated from the Olympics and Kim Rhode made the transition to skeet shooting and won a silver medal in Beijing.

This weekend Kim joined an elite group of Olympic Athletes when she won the gold medal in skeet. In addition to the medal, she set an Olympic record and a world record by hitting 99 of 100 targets. She ALSO became the first woman to win three gold medal in Olympic shooting

Kim trains seven days a week and shoots between 500 and 1000 targets a day. In addition to a cancer scare, and her gun being stolen the road to the Olympics has not been smooth which makes her journey all the more sweet.

Congratulations Kim! And go TEAM USA!

K-9 Equipment and Summer Safety for Pets

Hey guys,

Summer is in full swing here in Wisconsin, we have enjoyed the fabulous 4th of July fireworks, Summerfest and so much more. In addition, our 4th of July camping trip was a great success, except for the heat.

The weather all over the country is setting record temperatures, so make sure that you are keeping yourself and your pets hydrated! And more importantly, DO NOT leave your kids or your pets in your car! Take them in with you or leave them home (with a sitter of course).

This past weekend alone two children died and last month two police dogs were left in a hot car and perished!

Stay cool, and stay safe. If you do not have air conditioning than go to one of the cooling stations set up by your local government!

On a side note, If you are looking for top grain K-9 dog collars and leashes, so you do not need to leave your pet behind check out our online store at www.stallionleather.com.

Have a great day! Be safe!

3rd of July Fireworks: The Tradition Continues 30 Years!

Here in Milwaukee our big fireworks are tonight! That way all of the little communities around Milwaukee can have theirs on the 4th of July. I think its great because then we get to experience two great shows.

Tonight the July 3rd fireworks show will feature than 10,000 pounds of fireworks, with 5,000 igniters lighting more than 20,000 shells. It all takes place off the shore of Veterans Park on Milwaukee’s lakefront. Bartolattas, who has done the show for the last 30 years was dropped this year in favor of an out of state company. I hope they are as good as I remember!

Thank you to U.S. Bank for continuing a Milwaukee tradition!

If you go the the fireworks tonight the show begins at 9:30, remember that because of the traffic sometimes roads and expressway ramps are closed. Be safe and enjoy!

Summerfest 2012 and Summer Fun

Wow, can you believe that it is already July? Where does the time go? The fourth of July is a great family holiday and if you are like me you will be doing many things with your family, perhaps a picnic, fishing, boating, camping, the fireworks, a barbecue or a trip to the beach?

If you live in or near Milwaukee there are many, many things you can do for instance go to Summerfest and take in one of the over 700 musical acts which will be preforming over the next 10 days.

Source Summerfest.com

Summerfest for those of you who do not live in Milwaukee began in 1968 with a few temporary stages and food boths, the idea of the late Henry Maier, as a music festival to unite the people of Milwaukee and the surrouding areas. Forty-five years later it is a permanent fixture on the shores of Lake Michigan and not only does it unite people all over Milwaukee but people come from all over the world to see all of the top name entertainment.

I hope that you come to Milwaukee and take in some of the best we have to offer. It really is "a great place on a great lake."

Be safe, stay cool and stay hydrated!
