Peace Officers Memorial Day May 15th and National Police Week

Today, May 15th is Peace Officers Memorial Day. In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation designating May 15th to Peace Officers, and the week in which it falls as National Police Week!

National Police Week is a collaborative effort of many organizations dedicated to honoring America's law enforcement community.

Principal organizers of National Police Week are:
  • National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (NLEOMF), which sponsors the annual Candlelight Vigil at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial.
  • Fraternal Order of Police/Fraternal Order of Police Auxiliary (FOP/FOPA), which organize the Peace Officers Memorial Day Service at the U.S. Capitol.
  • Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.), which holds the National Police Survivors' Conference.

Stallion Leather salutes and thanks the men and women who serve, protect and make the ultimate sacrifice for this country!
